Eiyuu Senki Gold Cards of the Day 22/5/2014

Today's Cards of the Day introduce 2 more new Eiyuu Senki Characters to the ChaoS card game, Musashi and Kojirō!

(Note: Anyone who has been reading my previous Blog posts would realized I changed the skill name [Trample] to [Penetrate]. Just a personal preference, and I apologize for any confusion)

[Opponent Selection]
-----

Very interesting Character! Opponent Selection is one of those lesser-known skills.

The concept of Opponent Select is pretty straight forward. When a Character with this skill is selected as an Attacking Character, you get to choose an Opponent's Character instead of your Opponent as your target.

If you do target an Opponent's Character, take note that your Opponent still has the choice to select a Guarding Character to block your attack. If so, both the Opponent's Guarding Character and the Opponent's Character you selected as a target, will get involved in Battle along with your Character.

And another point to note: Should you battle with an Opponent's Guarding Character, any excess Damage will go towards the Opponent's Character you selected IF you have Penetrate. HOWEVER, any excess Damage from the Opponent's Character you selected will NOT go towards your Opponent's Deck as Damage. This is because the original target is no longer your Opponent, but the Opponent's Character you selected.

Recall that Musashi's effect is able to send Set cards which are set onto your Opponent's Battling Characters to their Waiting Room. If your Opponent chooses to send forth a Guarding Character to protect their targeted Character, you'll be able to send 1 Set from each of both Opponent's Characters to their Waiting Room IF you have Penetrate and managed to deal Damage to your target.

If you're unable to deal any excess Damage, then only the Guarding Character you Opponent chose will be affected by Musashi's effect.

Opponent Selection is great, if your Opponent play annoying Characters which give Stat boosts or provide pain-in-the-ass Continuous Effects.

Next, we have Sasaki Kojirō!
-----
:)

Trait and Name (Japanese): 武蔵を探して「佐々木小次郎」
Trait and Name (English): Searching for Musashi [Sasaki Kojirō]
Element: Air/Dark
Gender: Female
Stats and Growth: 2 / 1 ( +2 / +3 )
Card Number: ES-148U
Flavor Text (Japanese): 今後も鍛錬を重ねて、武蔵に再挑戦し、きっと勝利てみせる
Flavor Text (English): From now on, training should be taken seriously, so we will win when Musashi challenges us again to a fight

[Automatic Effect]
When this Character enters your Area, levels up, or auto level up, you may flip 1 <OS: Eiyuu Senki> Character to Faced-up position.

[Automatic Effect]
When your <OS: Eiyuu Senki> Partner is selected as an Attacking Character, draw 1 card.
-----

Having a passive (Compulsory) "draw 1 when your Partner attacks" effect, and a healing effect to boot, makes this a good card to use early in the game, when you are trying to get the right cards in your Hand. Kojirō would most likely be replaced once you're ready to get serious, as the compulsory drawing effect may be dangerous to your Deck in the later part of the game.

I hope that Kojirō and Musashi have an Extra card together in the Eiyuu Senki Gold Booster Box!
-----
See you all again tomorrow!
