Without much delay, let's move onto our first card!
Himiko!
-----
Everyone wants a piece of my Onii-chan! Damn it!
Trait and Name (Japanese): 辺津鏡「ヒミコ」
Trait and Name (English): Trinity Mirror [Himiko]
Element: Water
Gender: Female
Stats and Growth: 4 / 4 ( +2 / +2 )
Card Number: ES-149RR
Flavor Text (Japanese): 正妻の座は誰にも譲りません!
Flavor Text (English): I'll not surrender my position as his lawful wife to anyone!
[Entry Cost]
Reveal the top 2 cards of your deck. Return them back to the top of the deck in any order, then draw 1 card.
[Automatic Effect][Partner Effect]
Draw 1 card during the start of your Main Phase. This effect still activates when this Character is in Faced-down position.
[Battle Phase Effect][Once per Turn]
Cost:
Flip 1 of your <OS: Eiyuu Senki> Characters from Faced-up position to Faced-down Position.
Effect:
This Character gains +3 Attack and +3 Defence until the end of the Turn. If your Opponent has 12 or more cards in their Backyard, you may send 1 card from your Hand to your Waiting Room. If you do so, set 1 of your Opponent's Friends to <Rest> position. This effect can be activated when in Battle.
------
Trivia: The Trinity Mirror, or Hentsukagami, is one of the 10 Sacred Treasures said to be passed down from the ancestral deities of the Mononobe Clan.
Himiko's effect can be used when selecting a Character to guard from an incoming attack from an Opponent's Character. By selecting the guarding Character for Himiko's effect, you're able to pull off a +3 / +3 boost for her (And a Resting effect if conditions are met), plus a defending move from an Opponent's Character, all with just 1 Character!
Do note that doing so means you're defending yourself with a 0 / 0 Character. If the Opponent uses a Character with [Penetrate]. you'll still receive the full damage, so think carefully when engaging a Character with [Penetrate]!
And no, you can't use this same idea when attacking, as you're reducing your attacking Character to 0 / 0.
Of course, 1 possible Extra you'd want to use (If Himiko is your Partner of choice), would be this Extra from Eiyuu Senki's Extra Booster:
Main characters to the rescue!
You can also use cards relying on the Opponent's Backyard, although this is more of a matter of personal preference now. Such a card would be Vlad from the first Eiyuu Senki 1.00 Booster Box:
True to the name, "Vlad the Impaler"
-----
Next up! We've Nobunaga!
-----
Obsessed with guns? Let me show you mine!
Trait and Name (English): 3-Ranked Firing [Oda Nobunaga]
Element: Fire
Gender: Female
Stats and Growth: 10 / 3 ( +1 / - )
Card Number: ES-151C
Flavor Text (Japanese): 銃の錆にしてやるぜ
Flavor Text (English): I will deal with the rust on the gun
[Entry Cost]
Send 2 Character cards from your Hand to your Waiting Room.
[Trespass Cost]
Send 1 card from your Hand and 1 of your Faced-up position Friends to your Waiting Room.
[Automatic Effect]
While your Partner is either named [Himiko] or [Yamato Takeru], during your turn, should any of your Opponent's Characters receive an effect which reduces their Defence, this Character and your Partner gain [Penetrate] until the end of the Turn.
-----
Trivia: The 3-Ranked Firing, or Sandan-Uchi, is a tactic Nobunaga used during the Battle of Nagashino, involving his gunmen lining up in rows of 3.
This card goes very well with the old Yamato Takeru Partner from the first Eiyuu Senki 1.00 Booster Box.
Old is gold! Eiyuu Senki Gold! Hahaha *Gets shot*
This Partner has a Partner Effect which reduces an Opponent's Character's Defence according to the number of other Eiyuu Senki Characters you have on your Area when she attacks. You can pretty much see where this is going!
Of course, the only problem is Nobunaga's Entry Cost. Costly as it is, I'd rather place a low-cost or cost-free Character onto your Area, then use Nobunaga's [Trespass Cost] over it. Sending 2 Character cards to the Waiting Room can be painful and risky sometimes!
A [Himiko] Partner can use the Nobunaga card as well, but none of her Partners released up to date has an ability to reduce Defence, so you would need to resort to using other cards. The card pool involving the reduction of Opponent's Character's Defence is pretty little as of now (1.00 and Extra Booster). The new Booster (2.00) may contain cards which can reduce Opponent's Character's Defence, but only time will tell!
-----
That wraps up today's (Or actually, yesterday's!) Cards of the Day!
See you all for the next installment!
